Top most romantic perfumes!

Hey, muffins! In the spirit of Valentine's Day, I thought it would be fun to share with you some of my favourite, most romantic perfumes. I'll be the first to admit - I never cared much for Valentine's Day. Whilst it is a nice celebration; it feels slightly over-commercialised and I don't really agree with what it stands for. Do we honestly need a dedicated day in the year to celebrate love? Personally, I think that we shouldn't wait for Valentine's Day to make the effort and express our feelings - life is way too short for that! Still, I thought this would be a good opportunity for another themed perfume post. These recommendations are suitable not only for Valentine's - they are great for anyone who enjoys feminine, delicate and romantic perfumes all year round!

Chloe - Love Story (£65 for 50ml, Boots)
Everything about Love Story emanates femininity and romance, starting with the packaging. The bottle design is elegant and vintage; inspired by the love padlocks on the Pont des Arts bridge in Paris. The scent itself is very clean and inoffensive; combining notes of orange blossom and jasmine (a flower that's commonly used in wedding bouquets). It smells feminine, floral and delicate; making it suitable for casual wear all year round. It's also a great choice if you're looking to purchase it as a gift for that special someone - after all, what could be more romantic than a perfume that's shaped like a love padlock?

Try this if you like: Fragrances that are delicate, feminine and floral, such as Daisy by Marc Jacobs or Chance by Chanel. Love Story is perfect if you're looking for a casual, inoffensive scent that will be suitable for any occasion.

Nina Ricci - Love in Paris (£20 for 80ml, Fragrance Direct)
This is one of the more budget-friendly fragrances on the list; and it is also one of my all-time favourites. Love in Paris, aside from the beautiful name, is a very feminine and romantic perfume. The scent combines delicate notes of peonies, peaches and apricots. It smells very fresh and fruity, but there is also a hint of something 'sparkling' to it. Whenever I smell this, I think of a big bouquet of peony roses and a glass of peachy champagne. It's really unique and intoxicating, whilst still very approachable and easy to wear.

Try this if you like: Fresh and fruity fragrances with a hint of something unique, such as Champs Elysees by Guerlain, London by Burberry or Allure by Chanel.

Vera Wang - Be Jeweled Rouge (£28 for 50ml, AllBeauty)
Rouge is a limited edition of the original Be Jeweled fragrance from 2013. This version is a lot more fruity and intense; combining notes of sour cranberries, raspberries and delicious pralines. The red bottle is absolutely gorgeous; with detachable jewels around the top which can be worn as a bracelet. Be Jeweled Rouge is a lot more fun and flirty than other perfumes on this list - I think it that it symbolizes a more playful, youthful kind of romance. This is a wonderful gift idea if you're looking for something that's sweet, fruity and easy to wear all year round.

Try this if you like: Sweet, girly fragrances such as Candy by Prada; or celebrity perfumes such as Killer Queen by Katy Perry and Wonderstruck Enchanted by Taylor Swift (there are a lot of similarities between Be Jeweled and Wonderstruck!).

Guerlain - Love is All (£35 for 50ml, Fragrance Direct)
For me, Love is All holds a lot of sentimental value (gifted to me by my boyfriend as a very special present), and it really is a unique, beautiful fragrance. The scent combines fruity notes of mandarin orange and passion fruit, with a hint of sugary-smelling mimosa. Whenever I smell this, I feel like I'm sitting in a dense, tropical garden full of sweet and exotic flowers. If you're familiar with any of the Escada fragrances, Love is All is a little similar to those; but more elegant and natural-smelling. This perfume is a wonderful gift idea for that special someone - it's romantic, happy and uplifting; perfect for casual wear during spring and summer months.

Try this if you like: Sweet, natural-smelling perfumes with a hint of something tropical, such as Baby Doll by Yves Saint Laurent.

Dior - Miss Dior (£68 for 50ml, Boots)
Miss Dior needs no introduction - this is one of the most popular, best-selling fragrances of the last decade. If there is one high-end perfume that everyone should have in their collection, it's probably this one. Miss Dior smells incredibly feminine and sophisticated; but there is also something very playful and flirty about it. The scent combines notes of juicy strawberries, soft jasmine and dark oakmoss, which gives it a slight earthy-woodsy feel. I think that this would be a perfect scent to wear on a first date - it's sweet and innocent, but with a little playful side.

Try this if you like: This is one of those perfumes that's almost impossible to dislike. If you enjoy scents that are girly, sweet, with a hint of something woodsy (such as Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel), you will fall in love with Miss Dior

Do you have a favourite fragrance to wear on Valentine's Day? What scents make you think of love and romance?

PS.: Next post will be up in just over a week's time. I'm taking a short blogging break, and enjoying a week off with my better-half. x
