Winter Perfume Recommendations (2017)!

Hello there, my beauties! It's that time of the year again, when I share with you some of my favourite winter fragrances. January is probably the coldest month here in England, and I find myself reaching for warm, sugary perfumes more and more often. I think that there is something incredibly comforting about a cosy, sweet scent on a cold winter evening - a little like wrapping yourself up in your favourite blanket, with a cup of delicious hot chocolate. Today, I am very excited to share with you some of my favourite winter picks. I hope you enjoy!

BUDGET-FRIENDLY

Escada - Desire Me (£24 for 50ml)
This perfume smells like all of the world's most delicious desserts combined into one! Tiramisu, coffee, cheesecake, custard and dark chocolate... Desire Me is incredibly scrumptious, but what I really like about it is the hint of citruses and white flowers that stop it from smelling too sweet and overwhelming. This perfume is surprisingly light and delicate, and it doesn't smell as 'edible' as you might expect from the notes. The quality is amazing for the price, and even just a couple of sprays will keep you smelling lovely throughout the day. This is a perfect fragrance for those dark, cold winter days when you want something cosy and comforting!

Britney Spears - Private Show (£23 for 30ml)
This is probably my favourite celebrity fragrance of 2016! It definitely smells more high-end and expensive than it is (not quite top-shelf, but not like a standard celebrity perfume, either). There are a lot of similarities between this and Yves Saint Laurent's Black Opium, although Private Show is sweeter, creamier and more 'edible-smelling'. The scent combines uplifting notes of fresh fruits, coffee, whipped cream and dulce de leche (basically, creamy caramel sauce - yummy!). Coffee is definitely an interesting note here, and one that you don't see used very often. If I had to sum it up in one sentence, I'd say that this fragrance smells just like Starbucks' frappuccino, so absolutely delicious!

HIGH-END AND LUXURIOUS

Giorgio Armani - Si (£49 for 30ml)
Si was actually one of my most worn fragrances in 2016, and I honestly couldn't recommend it enough. This is such a warm and comforting perfume; perfect for those cold, winter evenings, when you want something sweet and cosy. The scent combines notes of creamy vanilla and fresh blackcurrant leaves, although there is also something a little tropical about it. Whilst not included in the official notes, I can definitely smell a bit of mango and passionfruit, which give the fragrance a lovely, exotic feel. I think that Si is one of those perfumes that's almost impossible to dislike! It's just so luxurious, elegant and feminine; but there is also something very familiar and approachable about it.

Dolce & Gabbana - Pour Femme (£49 for 25ml)
This is one of my most recent purchases, although I can honestly say that it's already a favourite. The scent is absolutely hypnotizing! It smells just like sweet marshmallow clouds, with a hint of fresh raspberry. Normally, I'd associate the scent of marshmallows with something that's quite heavy, sugary and artificial, but honesty - Pour Femme is the most grown-up marshmallow you'll ever smell! Whilst very sweet, this is definitely not a generic 'in your face' sugary bomb; this fragrance is luxurious, sophisticated and quite intimate. If you enjoy sweet scents, but want something a little more grown-up and refined - Pour Femme will be a perfect pick for you!

Marc Jacobs - Decadence (£48 for 30ml)
Decadence featured in last year's favourites, but I just had to include it again - I simply can't imagine my winter recommendations without it! This fragrance is a real departure from the usual girly, sweet Marc Jacobs perfumes (such as Daisy or Lola). This is a mysterious, seductive scent which combines notes of balsamic amber and dark fruits. There is also a hint of caramel and honey drops, which add a little sweetness to the overall composition. I was honestly surprised by how grown-up and sophisticated this perfume turned out to be, and I'd wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone! It's a perfect scent for warming up those cold, gloomy winter evenings.

Leave a comment and let me know what are your favourite winter fragrances! Do you tend to change up your perfumes depending on the season? And don't forget, you can still enter my Yves Saint Laurent giveaway  here! I will be doing some filming this weekend (at long last!), so the next post will be a YouTube video - yay!
