Recent Skincare Discoveries + Mini Reviews!

Hello, lovelies! Today, I wanted to share with you some of my latest skincare discoveries. It's quite rare for me to feature skincare reviews on my blog, mainly because I don't consider myself to be that knowledgeable in the subject. I love reading about skincare on other blogs, but when it comes to my own product choices, I kind of just go with whatever seems good (or has cute packaging!). Today, I thought I'd share with you some general thoughts on my recent skincare acquisitions. Hope you enjoy!

I have been absolutely loving Japanese face masks lately, so I was really excited when B Beauty kindly sent me these Lovely Your Skin sheet masks to try. I received the Jojoba Oil and the Retinol Essence masks (£2.50 each), infused with aloe vera, vitamins and plant oils. The main thing I love about these is how heavily saturated they are. I've tried a lot of sheet masks in the past, and some of them would just end up drying out after fifteen minutes. These, however, are completely soaked with moisturizing formula, and feel incredibly soothing when applied. I'd definitely recommend these if you're just getting into using face masks, and want something that's gentle on the skin, effective and also super affordable.

I also picked up a few of the Slow Down Skin! panda face masks at TK Maxx (£5.99 for a set of three). Admittedly, it was mostly the cute packaging that sold me into these! Enriched with bamboo extract, these masks are supposed to boost your skin's elasticity, although I have only used them twice so I can't really speak for long-term effects. They are pretty cute and they do make your skin feel very soothed and refreshed, so I'm quite happy with them!

I was kindly sent a bunch of goodies by Delight Touch, which included the Rosehip Hemp & Chia Moisturizer (£18), the Organic Troubled Skin Cream (£18) and the Orange & Comfrey Toner (£12). Delight Touch is a fairly new player on the skincare market, and they pride themselves on creating fully organic, paraben and sulphate-free products. I have enjoyed trying out their skincare range, especially the Organic Troubled Skin Cream which is a wonderful remedy for oily, acne-prone skin types. It feels incredibly soothing and nourishing on the skin; loaded with natural goodness of jojoba, aloe vera, rosehip and carrot extracts. I have been using it as a night cream, and my skin looks and feels so much clearer and more radiant. It's pretty rare that I would consider repurchasing a product that I was sent for a review, but I can definitely see this one becoming a staple in my skincare routine. The toner and the moisturizer have been lovely to use, also, but I haven't found them to be any more or less effective than my usual, more affordable skincare picks.

I also picked up this Vitamin C 21% face mask by Elizavecca at my local TK Maxx (£12), mostly because of the cute packaging! This is a creamy heat mask with highly concentrated Vitamin C, which can be used as a wash-off mask as well as a sleeping pack. It smells fresh and citrusy, and has a very pleasant, warm sensation when you apply it. I have only used it a handful of times so far, but to be honest, I don't think that it's made any difference to my skin. It feels nice when applied, but it just doesn't seem as effective as many other (and often much cheaper) face masks that I've tried. Perhaps it could be more suited for dryer skin types, but personally, I'd recommend giving it a miss!

Last, but definitely not least, I have been absolutely loving these adorable lip balms by Oh K! (£8 for a duo set, BeautyBay). They are not only cute to look at, but also incredibly moisturizing and I actually prefer them over my EOS lip balms. The formula is enriched with coconut oil, leaving your lips feeling soft and hydrated throughout the day. They also smell and taste absolutely delicious, with candy floss and white peach versions.
