TheVeganKind vegan beauty box review + first impressions! August edition

Hello, my loves! Today, I am very excited to talk to you about a fully vegan, fully cruelty-free beauty box by TheVeganKind. If you've been reading my blog for a while, you might know that I've always had a bit of a love/hate relationship with subscription boxes. The element of surprise can be very exciting, but I've had mix luck with beauty boxes in the past where I just wouldn't use most of the products. Having said that, I cannot tell you how happy I was when I found out about TheVeganKind box. I've been trying to explore more cruelty-free products, but it can be difficult since a lot of brands aren't 100% clear on their animal testing policies. So, to have a lovely beauty box full of vegan, cruelty-free products is just so useful in terms of trying out new and different brands. TheVeganKind beauty box costs £15 +£3.15 p&p per box (although the cost is less per box if you choose an annual subscription), and it'll arrive at your door once every two months. Today, I will be showing you the August 2018 edition. Hope you enjoy!

What's inside?

Harpers Candles Sweet Pea Soy Wax Candle (£5). This candle was definitely a nice surprise - handmade from soy wax, it smells sweet and floral - just like real sweet pea flowers. The scent is fairly delicate but really fills the room when burning the candle, which perfect especially for summer months. The packaging is super cute, too!

GlitterEyes Goddess Glow 'GlowUp' Highlighter (£7.99). I was happy to see a proper makeup item included in this edition! Fully vegan makeup isn't easy to come by, so it's always exciting to learn about these products. This pressed pigment highlighter is very glittery when applied (with a fair amount of fallout); with warm, golden undertones. I've yet to try it out properly, but it seems like a lovely choice if you are looking for an intense highlight!

Rawganic The Pure Hydrating 3-in-1 Facial Wipe (£3). I had high hopes for these wipes, but unfortunately they didn't impress as much as other products in the box. They smell amazing and moisturise well, but they're pretty poor at cleansing the skin (despite being advertised as 3-in-1 - cleansing, toning and hydrating). I think they would work well as an after-cleanse product, but not sure whether I'd buy them just for that.

Sukin Paw Paw Ointment (£6.99). This travel-sized moisturiser contains castor seed oil and can be used on your lips and skin - and let me tell you, it is amazing! The formula is very thick but doesn't take long to absorb, and it's wonderful especially when used on the lips. This is something that I can definitely see myself re-purchasing once used up - it'll work wonders come winter months and chapped lips!

Utan and Tone Tan Gummies (£18). I was very intrigued by these vitamin gummies - especially considering the high price value! They are supposed to help you develop a light, golden colour tan, if taken daily for three to four weeks. I've only been taking them for about a week and a half so I have yet to see any results, but I'm curious as to whether these will actually work. It would be pretty amazing if they did, and reviews online seem to be very positive. I will keep you updated on my results!

Miss Patisserie Watermelon Bath Slab (£5.50). This is, hands down, my favourite thing in the box - just look at it! It's so pretty, it smells amazing and makes your bath look so colourful. The scent is very delicate and soothing when used in the bath, like sweet watermelon juice - fruity and uplifting. I would love to get my hands on more of those bath slabs, although I think TheVeganKind picked a lovely one for this box - it feels so fresh and summery!

The verdict!

Overall, I am super pleased with TheVeganKind beauty box - it's an amazing subscription box for anyone who wants to explore cruelty-free, vegan beauty brands. The value for money is great (£46 total including the bonus item!), making this box well worth the investment. TheVeganKind definitely feels a lot more practical and well thought-out than a lot of other beauty boxes I've tried. Whilst not every product was 100% a hit, I love that everything is fully vegan and cruelty-free, and you get to explore so many brands that you likely wouldn't otherwise know about, as they are a little less mainstream. Overall, I am very pleased with this little box, and if you like the look of the products, I'd wholeheartedly recommend that you check it out, also - you get to try out some really lovely goodies, all whilst supporting the cruelty-free message. x
