Urban Decay Vice Metallized & Comfort Matte lipsticks - review + swatches!

Hey, beauties! Today, I'm really excited to talk to you about these gorgeous Vice lipsticks by Urban Decay (£15, Debenhams). I was always intrigued by the Vice range - with over 100 (!) shades and six different finishes to choose from, it seems that Urban Decay have really catered for every preference and taste. It was difficult to pick out only two shades for the review (I wish I could afford all of them!), but I decided to go for Moshpit from the Comfort Matte line-up, and Peyote from the Metallized range. Urban Decay claims that these lipsticks offer 'unbelievable pigmentation in just one swipe', and nourishing formula enriched with avocado, aloe vera and jojoba oil. It definitely sounds very promising, and I could not be more excited to try these. Hope you enjoy!

The bullet packaging is quite simple, designed to resemble a shotgun shell. I really like the combination of gunmetal and gold accents - I think that it looks quite 'edgy', whilst still very high-end and luxurious. The Vice range offers six different finishes - Mega Matte, Comfort Matte, Cream, Metallized, Sheer and Sheer Shimmer. The shade range covers pretty much every possible colour - from bold brights to dark and soft neutrals.

Comfort Matte in Moshpit. I typically avoid matte lipsticks as they tend to really dry out my lips, but I'm happy to say that this one feels very creamy and comfortable when applied. The finish is actually not completely matte - it's more of a classic, satin finish that dries matte after a couple of hours. I don't find the formula to be particularly hydrating, but it's still very comfortable and won't be harsh on your lips. The pigmentation is fantastic and you can get full, even coverage in just one swipe. The lasting power is about five to six hours, even if you're eating and drinking. I'm also very happy with the shade I picked out - Moshpit. It is a gorgeous, intense berry plum, which I think is perfect for autumn and winter months.

Metallized in Peyote. I absolutely adore this formula. It feels creamy, hydrating and comfortable - you'll likely forget that you're even wearing lipstick! I'm not sure whether the finish looks truly metallic - it's more of a sparkly, pearl finish that gives your lips some lovely, multidimensional shine. As with the Comfort Matte formula, you can get full, even coverage in just one swipe. However, the lasting power isn't quite as good - this one doesn't 'cling' onto your lips as much as Comfort Matte, and won't last through eating or drinking. The shade, Peyote, is a gorgeous, cool-toned dusty rose. Perfect for everyday wear throughout autumn!

Overall, I think that these lipsticks are absolutely lovely and I'm very impressed with the formula. The colour pay-off is amazing, and the lipsticks feel light and comfortable when applied. Personally, I was more impressed with the Metallized finish than the Comfort Matte one. The latter is still really good, but I honestly believe that are more affordable alternatives out there that offer similar quality and pigmentation. Although the price tag for these is a little high (£15), I'd say that they are still worth the purchase if you want to treat yourself to something really special. There are enough shades and finishes available so you'll definitely be able to find something that's right up  your alley!

Have you tried any of the Vice lipsticks by Urban Decay? What are your favourite high-end lipsticks?
